Adult learners graduating from BCAT’s IT Technical Support program are ready for entry-level careers in the information technology field in Buffalo. The CompTIA certificate aligns with employment as a help desk, support, service center, or networking technician. The course and certification exam covers PC and laptop hardware, software installation, the configuration of computer and mobile operating systems, basic networking, troubleshooting, and security skills.
Highly qualified instructors and NYSEd- approved coursework are part of this 12-week, 120-hour course offered in-person Monday – Thursday from 5:30PM-8:30PM.
Accepted students may need to take the prerequisite introduction CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+). This course is an introduction to basic IT knowledge and skills. The prerequisite course will take 6 weeks to complete before you can enroll in the IT Security+ and IT Technical Support Technician Programs.
Two CompTiaA+ certification exams are included in this course. The Core 1 (CompTIA A+ 220-1101 series) covers mobile devices, networking technology, hardware, virtualization and cloud computing. Core 2 (CompTIA A+ 220-1102 series) covers operating systems, security, software, and operational procedures. The CompTia A+ certification is a globally recognized accreditation for three years before renewal.
There are 15 seats available for this course. All accepted adults receive a scholarship that covers 100% of the cost of tuition, books, labs, study modules, and certification exam fees.
STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE REQUIRED COURSE WORK AND TAKE THE TWO
COMPTIA A+ CERTIFICATION EXAMS TO GRADUATE FROM THE PROGRAM.
