Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology (BCAT) is a not-for-profit whose mission is to inspire, motivate, and prepare youth and adults for educational and career advancement through year-round arts programming and job training. BCAT is located at 1221 Main Street in Buffalo New York.

Position Summary:

TWO EVENINGS/WEEK from 5:30pm-8:30pm
Immediate Opening: May 11, 2020 – January 31, 2021

The Sterile Processing Instructor will teach an NYSED approved curriculum for young adults 18-24. This curriculum may be a combination of hybrid and traditional classroom teaching. The evening program meets (twice a week) Monday & Wednesday from 5:30 pm-8:30 pm. Compensation for the instructional prep time is an agreed-upon number of hours (1-2) each week. This position will report to the Director of Adult Workforce Development Programs.

Job Responsibilities:

 Provide online and classroom instruction for those interested in employment in Sterile Processing
 Facilitate certification prep classes
 Monitor student course progress, grades, and attendance
 Uphold the highest levels of professionalism and ethical conduct
 Assist with administrative duties as needed and related to the class

Job Requirements:

 Requirement: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Sterile Processing Technician Certified
 Associate’s Degree in a Health Care related field or Science from an accredited school.
 Minimum of one-year in-field work experience within the past three years
 Excellent organizational and motivational skills
 Instructional experience (online and/ or classroom) a plus
 Excellent verbal and written communications skills
 Must pass a background check
